The 18th Amendment The 18th amendment was a passed law that banned alcohol, being transported, consumed, and the making of it. this took place from 1920-1933. this law was made in hopes to decrease crime rates. people would try to smuggle alcohol. bars were open under ground. alcohol was transported illegally. years later a law was passed that changed the 18th amendment. the passed law allowed alcohol. Anxiety- people in this time period had the desire to drink, but many others were against alcohol. Intolerance- people in this time period did not accept the 18th amendment and secretly consumed alcohol
